For years, many of us have known that there are dangers in chemicals and untested ingredients in the products we use from health and beauty products to household cleaners. This is one of the reasons we choose to use therapeutic grade essential oils as substitutes for the potentially toxic counterparts. Recently, Congress held a hearing on this specific topic releasing findings that of the 84,000 consumer chemicals only 1% have been tested for safety. CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported on the hearing stating “what we don’t know can really hurt us. And there’s a lot we don’t know”.
